Chris Sprouse Tom Strong Cover Beautiful__________chris sprouse_________. Though originally intended as a cover for issue 23- this piece was later inked by chris for the back cover for the fourth volume of collected tom strong- both the soft adn hc editions. So- what is unique about this particular cover is- it's pure sprouse pencil work- because he light-boxed the inked version! And all i can honetsly say about that is hubba-hubba. The piece is sgined (in ink) cs after herge' because, as mr sprouse explains- this cover is a homage to herge' who did explorers on the moon. I hate to say that chris sprouse is a highly 'under-rated' artist, because that might be interpreted as a back-handed complement- but his work is always clean, with a minimalist approach that belies the originality and breath he brings to the characters he brings to life. Always entertaining- and a style that is highly recognizeable- which is a hall-mark to any artist who is mtauring and has the chops for longevity. His teaming up with alan moore on the tom strong series was a lennon/mccartney. He made alan moore's creation 'sing' i'm sure you agree~! No reserve! Pleaes respect the art! Thanks fer lookin' ~.
