Rh01 Fred Rayartwork Recreation Cv Action Comics 40Fred rey original artwork for re-creation to the cover for action comics no. 40, dc comics group, circa 1980's, pen and ink with watercolor and tempura and brush on paper, signed by the artist on teh lower right margin, image size is 18 1/2 x 14 1/4. The plaque states. Original re-creation atr for the cover of d. C. 's actino comics no. 40 for september of 1941, artist fred ray jr. Medium tempura. A natiev pennsylvanian mr. Ray started in 1940 working for shuster & siegel the creators of superman. He was one of the earliest definitive superman artists and this is one of about a dozen rare re-creations done in the early 1980's. Condition is excellent, doulbe matted and framed. Auction estimate $6,000- to $9,000 (1 item).

In 40 years of shipping everything from an action comics #1 to expensive originals i have never had a registered package lost. Level 2 purchases lower than $700 us domestic, or cheaper goods, can be shipped priority insured. I now use priority boxes with flat rates, and if you have fewer than 20 comics i will try ot save you on postage with these this method using flat rate boxes usually saves buyers in california and oregon the most money. Otherwise priority with insurance. Level 3 heavy weight or large bulk purchases, where time is not a factor, these orders can be sent media mail with insurance, to further save you money on shipping. Foreign clients have to suffer expensive rates on shipping and insurance. I do the best i can for overseas clients, but please be aware that airmail with insurance can be expensive.
